An Exciting Announcement
Our voices are being heard
Today the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation announced the first of their 2022 Bradley Prize winners, and I am proud to say it is yours truly. The Bradley Foundation awards this prize ever year to honorees who reflect the organization’s “mission to restore, strengthen, and protect the principles and institutions of American exceptionalism.” Previous winners include Robert Woodson, Shelby Steele, Gary Becker, and Terry Teachout, among many other significant figures. I feel incredibly honored to find myself in such esteemed company.
To quote the Bradley Foundation’s announcement,
“Glenn is one of our country’s most influential and highly regarded academic economists, whose work has been extensively published, shared, and honored by prominent organizations nationally and abroad,” said Bradley Foundation President Rick Graber. “Glenn also stands out for promoting viewpoint diversity within the academy, challenging the progressive narrative on race and inequality, and vigorously defending America’s founding principles. The Bradley Foundation is proud to honor Glenn for his scholarship and courage of conviction.”
While the Bradley Prizes aren’t awarded for any one achievement, I feel confident in saying my work at The Glenn Show was a major factor in the committee’s decision. This platform has allowed me to get my message out in a way that’s much more powerful than writing editorials or playing the pundit on cable news or any other traditional venue. Clearly, the message is being heard, and now it’s being recognized.
Keeping TGS going would not be possible without the generosity and participation of my readers and viewers. We’ve built a vital, bustling, freethinking community here, and it continues to grow. So I want to thank you for listening, for speaking up, and for helping to ensure that the message keeps spreading. We’ve got more work to do in the coming months and years, and I hope you’ll continue to be a part of it.
HOORAY!
Dr. Loury, your speech before the foundation is a masterpiece of clear thinking, plain speaking and patriotic fervor. I try to interest friends of my same liberal bent with your thoughts, in the hope that just one of them will watch long enough to open their minds to the ideas you express, to question the heterodox, binary beliefs we shared half a century ago, but no longer do. It's an uphill battle, but as long as you keep talking, I'll keep trying. Godspeed, Dr. Glenn.
