Gaza’s civilian population has nowhere to go because Egypt has kept a cork in that bottle for geo-political gain.

It's stunning that Egypts role in the plight of Gaza is seldom discussed.

Not just political gain, self preservation. There’s a long bloody history as to why Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc. have no interest in taking in Palestinian refugees. It’s never ended well in the past.

So true. Egypt was treating Palestinians like garbage for literally thousands of years before Muhammad was born. So inconvenient to today's Arab narratives.

I think you’re stretching a bit with the “literally thousands of years before Muhammad was born” bit. I’ll assume that was hyperbolic.

Actually I'm not, Egypt has controlled the Gaza area on and off for over 4,000 years. studying ancient Mediterranean history isn't for everyone.

That wasn’t my point. Ancient Egypt isn’t modern Egypt, The Philistines aren’t the ancestors of the Palestinians, and the Arabs weren’t even there 2000 years ago. Islam is about 1400 years old. Your description of territorial conflicts isn’t terribly relevant as none of those inhabitants would have even been “Palestinian” before the Romans conquered Judea, Samaria, etc.

Also, ironically you seem to be attributing a stance on this issue which I do not have. I’m 100% pro-Israel, and put the blame squarely on Hamas. Thanks. Interacting thoughtfully on comment threads isn’t for everyone. YMMV😘

I’ll gladly amend “Egypt was treating Palestinians like garbage for literally thousands of years” to “Egypt was treating the population around Gaza like garbage for literally thousands of years”. Certainly they were Palestinians when Egypt was treating them like garbage when Egypt was managing the Gaza area for the Ottomans

Never said it was your point and 20 minutes with a search engine and Wikipedia only get you so far and you got as much wrong as right. I’m not 100% Pro anyone in the Middle East because I have a grasp of its history At least you learned a bit of it tonight
