Remember the hyper-activism of the later 60's & 70's. To an extent that burned itself out, along with the populace sickening of the violence. Things got kinda boring and quiet. Other things occupied our minds. But much stuck (expanded Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, affirmative action, urban renewal, etc.) with an severe expansion of national, state and local jobs in the Social Services. Though things seemed to get economically better for all, with more emphasis on character & merit, an insidious under current remained, fostered by our move from industrial to service. Things got kinda boring and quiet. Other things occupied our minds. We became more "socialistic". The economic divide widened because I believe that pay for jobs that are dependent on taxes & contributions or other people wealth, requiring no skills or a degree in psych-social babble can never come close to those that require some skill and generate revenue. I believe also we will swing away from the hyper-woke, but much will stick. The Internet lets nothing die a natural death.
