Glenn - Is Israel an ethno-state? The answer isn't black & white. They do want to remain a Jewish majority state. But Israel has a 20% Arab minority, with an Arab party in the Knesset. OTOH, what's the demographics of every other state in the region? They're almost all 100% muslim/arab states. If Israel completely opened it borders to "Palestinian Arabs", I suspect it would quickly become a Arab ethno-state. I don't know any examples of American-style multiethnic states in the region.
