The department is allowing Orager U to lie to elementary school children and Conservatives stand mute. If you disagree with the nonsense, you are accused of creating division. The Alabama legislature is a prime example of how Conservatives feel about Black voters. The Alabama legislature wants Blacks to be docile and be unable to cast a vote. Conservatives caught a huge case of the vapors when there were arguments for defunding local police departments. Now Conservative Presidential candidates are shouting defund the DOJ and the FBI to protect their lord and master Donald Trump.
Defunding the police is a very bad idea (insane). There should be serious independent civilian oversight of law enforcement agencies by real adults (commissions) with teeth.
This California prison union used to be one of the most powerful prison unions in the country. They, in part, influenced the building of more prisons and increasing union membership. It contributed multiple millions of dollars to both left and right legislators and governors.
I lived in California for 68 years before moving to Georgia 4 years ago. I worked for the California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation before I retired as a Correctional Counselor Supervisor. Georgia is a different animal, especially the very poor running of its jails and prisons. The feds are currently investigating the unusual death rates in Georgia prisons/jails, especially at the Fulton County Jail. I constantly read about black inmates' dead bodies being discovered by correctional staff and covered with insects (bed bugs).
They do not see Black bodies as human. When Black bodies who were enslaved are humanized, it is not surprising that the immediate response is to divert to white people forced into slavery. White slavery is the only way they can understand the brutality.
A Black man, Patrick Braxton, ran unopposed for mayor in 2020 and after winning, named an all-Black town council. The existing white mayor and majority-white council responded by seeking to oust him and retain their offices.
Donald Trump has nothing to lose and will continue to be a significant threat. I wouldn't be surprised by further white domestic terrorism before or after the 2024 elections. I'm always adding necessities to my stash.
I agree. Conservatives will continue to make a criminal like Donald Trump their standard bearer. He will try to delay his trials. Conservatives will attempt to vote him back into office while shouting their morality to the rooftops. The man has a charity and a university shuttered because of fraud, but they see that he can give them power, so they say screw youth to the rest of the country. The man even talked about sexual desire for his daughter and buried an ex-wife on a golf course. Still Conservatives support him.
Also of note, Donald Trump is a conman. One wonders if the current culture war attacks by various entities is part of a plot to tank a company’s stock, buy the stock at at low price, then make profit when the culture war issue fades away and the stock rebounds.

True defunding is insane. Police unions have tremendous political power and appear to be a major rate limiting step in achieving police reform.
