A few days ago I posted a couple of puzzles for my new newsletter section, Beautiful Ideas. I was excited to see what you would come up with, and man, you guys did not disappoint! Within minutes, readers had posted correct solutions to both puzzles, and many others followed. More than the solutions themselves, I’m deriving immense pleasure from reading through the various pathways people took to arrive at the answers. These ranged from Claire’s philosophically minded dictum, “The principle is to first figure out what you can control” to Bill’s use of some C++ code to check his work.
You’ll find two videos below, each of them explaining my winning strategies and the logic behind them. As with the puzzles, the first solution is available to everyone, while the second one is available only to paying subscribers. So if you want to see what you’re missing, click below to support The Glenn Show and get access to our full archive and all the good stuff we have coming down the line.
I’m so encouraged by these responses that I’m already thinking about what I’m going to post next. I see in the comments that we had at least one team of romantic partners working on these problems together. For those of you with kids, I’m curious to see how they react. Have them take a shot, and tell us how it goes. Let’s see if it sparks their interest.
