It’s Christmas Day, it’s Hanukkah, Kwanzaa is right around the corner, and if you’re living in North America, it is really cold outside. So I imagine and hope all of you are spending the day and evening in the company of friends and family, indoors, preferably by a roaring fireplace. I figured that, rather than posting an essay or a letter from a reader, I’d use today’s issue of the newsletter to help you stay warm.
Many of you know that my wife, the lovely LaJuan Loury, is a political junkie and now a debate moderator. But she’s also a music obsessive with an encyclopedic knowledge of R&B, pop, funk, rap, and jazz. She’s cooked up a playlist of grooves appropriate for warm summer nights and backyard barbecues, but everyone could benefit from some heat now more than ever. Below you’ll find LaJuan’s “Summer Lovin’” organized as a YouTube playlist, along with a message of thanks from both of us. As LaJuan is fond of saying, “I hope you dance!”
Smooth. All I want for Christmas is an invitation to the next Loury cookout!
I’ve enjoyed your thoughtful posts this year. You make difference. Merry Christmas.
