Just saw a clip of outgoing Representative Wesley Hunt assuring us Jim Crow is over. Hunt must be getting his talking points from Democrats who are punking him into making laughable statements. This ranks up there with Byron Donald saying Black life was good under Jim Crow. The two need to compare notes. I needed humor today. Thanks Wesley.
I subscribed to better understand the Conservative mindset. I have been disappointed. Crime is decreasing, but Blacks are still filth. Trump calls reporters “Piggy” and Conservatives stand mute. Qualified Black generals are fired while other Black officers are denied promotion. We have white people comprising a confederacy of dunces in the cabinet. Trump’s incompetence resulted in increased Black unemployment and we are being lectured about Black work ethic.
Republicans are doing everything possible to suppress Black votes because Republican legislators are the worse alternative for Black voters. I’m going to read the new book by Kimberle Crenshaw of Critical Race Theory this weekend. Mike Pence has a new book about Conservatism, I expect that book to be as useful as “A Cat in a Hat”. Conservatives have lost respect.
Republicans have no moral authority to speak about issues of race.
For as long as I have been commenting Glenn has been for self-respect politics instead of the common meaning of respectability politics which centers around giving the people who may be prejudiced against you nothing to criticize.
For me even if many of the Black people that I met online are far to Glenn's left they are educated people who rely on learning and eloquence and help me to be more outraged that others are abandoned to poverty and ignorance.
I think that in our times no one can say that s/he has been abandoned to ignorance. 95% of American teens have access to a smartphone and there are many things one can learn about the world even if one does not have basic reading skills. I would say that the problem is that some people grow up in an environment which does not value education and which can also be extremely dysfunctional.

Abandoned?
We are not children. Every adult is his/her own agent.
Fine, people who have been treated so poorly by schools that their hunger for knowledge sends them to places like TNC's dad's bookstore.

The can go anywhere they want.
We seem to agree that we can't count on the schools, so don't.
