I believe it's the rewards and loopholes available to single parents, esp. mothers is a big contributor. It's getting harder to advise legal (state sanctioned) marriage. It seems that commitment ceremonies for those under 55( child custody to the one who earns least) and Dominican divorce (con't to live together) for those over and wanting to protect assets.
