That was great, Prof. Fryer's keen mind, enthusiasm for knowledge, and intellectual honesty are palpable and infectious. I wish more academics and public intellectuals were like him.
How was Roland a student of Glenn? I looked at Roland education and he was an undergrad at the University of Texas Arlington and PhD from Penn St. Glenn was a professor at Boston during this time period.
I was an outside reader of his thesis and a formal member of his dissertation committee. We worked closely together early in his career and have published a number of jointly-authored articles in top economics journals...
Wow, Glenn. My dog’s asleep, my partner’s asleep, but I am wide awake tonightwith the exhilaration of Roland and his life’s work on data and his grandmother.
I noticed! Before now Dr. Fryer had only been a name to me, based on his oft-cited study of police interactions. Listening to part 1, I wondered why no one ever talks about the interaction between black and white teammates in sports. It couldn't have been fifteen seconds later Dr. Fryer started talking about his own experiences in that regard.
I watched the Great American Race Game documentary. The clips of you, Dr. Loury, were excellent. I was encouraged to see one focus of the film was the political purpose of today's cynical and incredible narratives. Lately, and egotistically, I have been halfway feeling I was the only one to sense that. Clearly not!
Thank you Glenn. I'm so happy for you to be able to do this for us and for Roland. Presumably your doing this makes you feel good and that also makes me feel a little happier.
omgosh what a Pleasure! Ohmygosh. What a fresh-air breather. Thank you. (btw Do these guys not interview women??)

I loved listening to this conversation when it happened. I am a huge shipper of all three of them. America is still the home of giants.

That's very sweet of you...
