I shared on Facebook. Thank you Coleman and Glenn (alphabetical). This is quite a fight. The success of reason will occur in one institution at a time and there will be a cross-over effect where institutions over-lap. We have already seen resistance from parents at the schools. At work, my email signature has no pronouns, but does have a link EachMindMatters - the official slogan of the California mental health program (since 2015). This is a relevant link as I work for county mental health services. Zero people have complained.

On the status of Latinos in the USA, I want to acknowledge a bias from non-Latino Americans in the context of political geography. If you were to survey people all around the world, I imagine you would discover a different kind of prejudice reserved for neighboring countries. The USA doesn’t just border a single country to the south but an entire continent of people known as “Latinos”. For Latino immigrants and children, the macro place of origin is only one border away. There are numerous consequences of place of ancestral origin as near vs. far.
