Dear Glenn,

Anyone who heard your interview with Tucker Carlson would benefit from your wisdom – you did well.

It amazes me that a year ago – heck 6 months ago - I had never heard the term “critical race theory” and now no day goes by without: hearing it, seeing it or even feeling it.

I am 70 years old. I can never remember a time when this country was literally on the edge of a cliff balancing between righting itself or falling off the edge. I came of age during the Vietnam War in the late 60’s and early 70’s – that was not nearly as scary a time as now.

I have only recently become a Fox News viewer. A year ago, Fox News was beneath me. I got my news from CBS, CNN, Time Magazine, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ is also owned by Rupert Murdock) and the local newspaper. With the exception of the WSJ, the “mainstream media” has always had a “lean left” bias. However, with the election of Donald Trump, they developed a deep psychosis dubbed “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and completely lost their status as members of the 4th Estate (The term, “Trump Derangement Syndrome”, is derived from an earlier version, “Bush Derangement Syndrome”, coined by psychiatrist, columnist and political commentator, Charles Krauthammer in a 2003 opinion piece: “The acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency – nay – the very existence of George W. Bush.”). The mainstream media has become the propaganda arm of the Left, the Democrat Party, Black Lives Matter and Wokeness in general – nothing more. Journalism has become the most corrupt of all professions. I started to watch Fox News in desperation, because I knew that I was being lied to by CBS, CNN and Time Magazine. Make no mistake, Fox is every bit as bias and politically married to the Center/Right and the Republican Party as the mainstream media is to the Left. In my opinion, Fox is bias and they overstate positions, but they do not lie. CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, Time Magazine, et al. out-in-out lie or are wholly guilty of suppressing information – “a truth untold, is but a lie undiscovered”.

Somehow my original advice to your request for guidance on going on the Tucker Carlson show did not post, but my advice then was not to go. Not because your words would be of no value; not because your message wouldn’t be well received, but rather that your appearance on Tucker Carlson would be “preaching to the choir”. Your message to Fox viewers would not educate the audience only reinforce their existing beliefs. Time is precious and is in short supply and you are a valuable commodity. My advice was to skip Fox and concentrate landing gigs on CNN, CNBC, CBS, etc. where your message might find willing minds.

Hopefully, your important message on Fox will be a warmup for other venues. Although, as your colleague, John McWhorter, has written – Wokeness is the new religion of the Left – dissuading adherents of a religion has always proved a difficult endeavor – the work of martyrs. The Jesuits did it around the world, perhaps you can too.

This is awesome, thank you! You shine through: that is what I hoped would happen. You frame these important ideas in a way anyone can understand. Clearly it was helpful to Tucker, who just knows he doesn't like the turn things have taken. If people do not understand why, in simple terms, then they will much more likely fall down tribal and racist rabbit holes. Cynically speaking, Fox and Tucker Carlson are likely seeing they can attract some new viewers, disenfranchised liberals and progressives (like me) who never watch Fox but who love your thinking and your heart. They see an opening. That is fine. Maybe the liberal press in this marketplace will see that there is an interest and an engagement and bring you there too. I hope so!
