I'll be more at peace when this cruise ship that I'm on finishes its sail on the Red Sea (merchant ships being targeted with rockets/drones by Muslim extremists) and in the Gulf of Aden above Somalia (high pirate threat). Because of the Hamas-Israeli conflict, we tried to cancel this trip to the Middle East. However, NCL refused to refund our prepaid fare or replace it with a future cruise. The passenger capacity on this ship is 2,600. However, there are currently about 1,500 passengers on this ship, I guess the 1,100 didn’t want to take the risk and forfeited their full fares. 😀

Another litany of excuses for barbaric uncivilized behaviors.

Interesting how when one hears of advancements in medicine, science, agriculture, engineering, energy, telecommunications, finance, and labor saving devices, one thinks of one group.

And when one hears of carjackings, drive by shootings, looting, low test scores, administrative incompetence, and the inability to compete in a modern society without massive intervention, one thinks of another.

Fair winds Monty, enjoy all the blessings the white man has provided and shared with you.

IMO, most of today's problems stem from fundamental failures/miscalculations of the Civil Rights Movement - i.e., that advancing civil rights and liberties of African Americans would de facto create an economic base. Something Booker T. Washington understood wouldn't work in the 19th century.

The most meaningful critique of the Democrat Party is that it's an exhausted and failed apparatus born of the Civil Rights Era. Infantilization is what you get with endless activism and no real economic power. Just endless whining and crying.

But most crying babies are trying to communicate a real need, they just lack the language to express themselves. Similarly: the monopoly of the CRM has so restricted the flow of information and ideas, that most "activists" lack the language to articulate complex problems beyond a framework of law, rights, liberties, etc.

I'm not trivializing the achievements of the 50's and 60's. But let's not beat around the bush: attacking the Democrat Party is a veiled attack on the Civil Rights Movement, which very few in polite society will seriously discuss.

Very low crime rate and the government (wealthy) takes care of their less fortunate citizens. Prescription drugs are much cheaper here. For $450.00 worth of prescription drugs in the ship's medical, it would cost about $35.00 in a local pharmacy in Jeddah.

Crime in the Kingdom is largely invisible: effectively, at least 14 million people are held in slavery. Women are beaten by husbands; some are killed with no consequences.

The race of my spouse is significant for me. My black spouse and I share a common ancestry and struggle, even though we're high-income earners. If divorce occurs, assets are kept in the pool of black group wealth.

A broke white boy from Texas attempted to marry my stepdaughter who owns a home with two sons without a prenuptial agreement. He wanted to move his father and sister in. Fortunately, she came to her senses after being counseled by her mother and me.

My son is married to a white woman. They have two biracial kids, 9 and 7, which I've never seen. I've never openly expressed to him my disapproval of his relationship with white women. Maintaining a relationship with him was more important. He's in a strange world.

"Crime in the Kingdom is largely invisible." Lol! I wasn't born yesterday. I worked in the prison industrial complex in the United States for 34 years. Black mass incarceration in America is slavery, thanks to Jim Crow Joe Biden's racist 1994 crime bill which over-penalized black drug offenders (crack cocaine) vs white drug offenders (cocaine). States were guaranteed federal funds if they implemented the 3 strikes laws. 100 years of Jim Crow through the 1960s was semi-slavery, ending only 55 years ago.

Many white sexual perverts (including professionals) go to Thailand and the African continent to have sex with underage kids. I didn’t witness slaves in Egypt or Saudi Arabia. I did note that highly educated blacks.

My great paternal great-grandmother was brutally raped by a scumbag Scots-Irishman with impunity. My grandmother and an aunt died because white hospitals refused to provide emergency medical care.

My late father, a WWII vet who served in a shithole in the Pacific theater, along with his brother in the European theater, returned home as second-class citizens. Black soldiers in uniform on their way back home to America were subjected to the high risk of being lynched or murdered by white men in the South.

Drug pricing isn't complex. Capitalism and greed is a major problem in America. I've traveled all the continents. My medical care overseas has been great and much cheaper.

There's nothing you can teach me. I don't give a damn about your absurd conservative economic models. They're based on your politics. Furthermore, conservatism is ant-black as clearly demonstrated by historical facts (i.e., the Southern strategy, lack of support financial support to correct past injustices done to blacks, and anti-civil rights).

"Although the names stayed the same, the platforms of the two parties reversed each other in the mid-20th century, due in large part to white ‘Dixiecrats’ flight out of the Democratic Party and into the Republican Party after the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964," she said. There is a closely guarded secret that has been deliberately buried by mainstream media and historians: After the Civil War (and during the war), millions of freed Black people were funneled into concentration camps in America and killed through forced starvation, and other means. Many of these locations were called “contraband camps”, and they were hastily built internment camps that were generally in proximity to Union army camps. One gruesome camp, in particular, was located in Natchez, Ms. The Devil’s Punchbowl is a place located in Natchez, where during the Civil War, authorities forced tens of thousands of freed slaves to live in these American death camps. Researcher Paula Westbrook said, “The union army did not allow them to remove the bodies from the camp. They just gave ’em shovels and said bury ’em where they drop.” “When the slaves

were released from the plantations during the occupation they overran Natchez. The population went from about 10,000 to 120,000 overnight,” Westbrook said. “So they decided to build an encampment for ’em at Devil’s Punchbowl which they walled off and wouldn’t let ’em out,” Don Estes, former director of the Natchez City Cemetery, said. In Natchez, Mississipi alone, officials estimate that in the time span of just one year, over 20,000 free Black people were killed in the concentration camp called The Devil’s Punchbowl-- SPMG Media

The republicans disqualify themselves with both the black and white workers by there attempts to cut social security and health care for the poor. This is simply a nonstarter. The conversation is over on all the other issues because this is something that is life and death for grandma.

Expand full comment

A nonstarter, MD, is when both programs run out of money. The U.S. spends twice what any other country does per capita on health care, with sub-average outcomes. With the GAO finding tens of billions of fraud annually, you don't think there's room for improvement? Medicare will run out of money by 2031, Social Security by 2033. By law, Social Security is not allowed to borrow money - the program MUST be made solvent. Bush W tried to ensure SS solvency in 2004-05 but the Democrats refused to take up the issue. The recent Republican debate shows that none of the candidates has much of an understanding of the Social Security Act, and I'm pretty sure Biden doesn't either. Trump poo-poo'd it as well. The nonstarter is coming, like it or not.

I would only add that aristocrats who control their state security apparatus (Putin, the Ayatollah, Xi, Maduro, Ortega to name a few) seem to do quite well in dealing with the rabble. In our own case, the fact that the FBI took sides in politics and intervened illegally moves us a step closer to that storied group.

Like the border, Social Security reform is not rocket science. We just need some bi-partisan political will.

The point is that if the rabble are armed and angry enough, then the elite can no longer rely on their mercenaries. It becomes tempting for the military commander of the regime forces to switch sides, join the rebels, and hang his boss. This has been done over and over in history when an existing empire becomes overextended and decadent. It is monotonous and only can red about it in the Bible or in the vedas or in the Greek literature. . So a Corsican general orders his troops to arrest anyone who can possible oppose him. He hangs all who refuse to submit, and then he simply declaims himself to be dictator for life.

You won’t seem to take my point. The hunta backing the coup would include people high in FBI or CIA and must include leader of a mechanized unit in DC area. Many such will exist if Biden continues to destroy the constitution. The outside support would be mainly funded by Taiwanise, Israeli and Ukrainian intelligence using the very money appropriated to support their war efforts. The key is to put artillery on Arlington heights, to block Key bridge with tanks, and to also put tanks on the mall and at all the big DC traffic circles like DuPont circle. A provocation by some rag tag rebels force of a few thousand infantry could storm and hold the capital and white house and arrest the democrats and all their supporters and hold them hostage. Then the actual coup leader would then activate and “save the day” by staging a dramatic rescue and restore order. Alas, too late, the president and congressional leadership are dead and so martial law must be declared. The leader of the rescue would be a low level officer who was mad at his commander or who was not properly rewarded or promoted. Finding and recruiting the right man is common tradecraft for our cia guys. The only difference is that it is usually done overseas in some third world hellhole or other. No reason It would not go,down the same in the good ol,us of a. Best source for the coup leader would be a Brigadier rank officer leading a brigade in the dc area. Preferably one with tanks and artillery.

Kimberly, health care in the U.S. is a big mess, and neither party has answers so far. Obamacare is a step towards universal healthcare, where we may indeed end up. That's fine, but get ready for rationed care a la Canada and the U.K. Sweden allows its citizens to have an optional private policy.

Let's have a serious discussion. If you smoke or skydive, your life insurance costs more because the risk of a claim is statistically higher. But not with health insurance: people who do drugs, eat themselves to obesity or engage in risky behaviors (e.g. gunfights) suck the vast majority of health care dollars. Every ER has regular repeat customers that the staff know by name. People fly into this country every day on tourist visas and present themselves to emergency rooms for complex and expensive procedures. Free. We'll spend millions treating a single patient for cancer but little on preventative medicine or education. Have you talked to people in Canada or the UK that need anything out of the ordinary? There are a lot of tough issues here, and neither party gives a rat's ass about a solution. Federal employees and Congress have their own health care plan. Unlike yours, it is guaranteed by the U.S. Government.

It's complicated, I agree, but our healthcare options and costs have been much worse since Obamacare was passed. No one talks about all the exemptions he put into place for his cronies like large labor unions. No one talks about the skyrocketing costs of premiums. No one talks about the limits placed on where people can go to get healthcare.

I don't agree that we should get rid of Medicare. I *do* think we should take of "the least of these", but as the parent of an adult disabled child who has just gone on Medicare, I can tell you the system is bloated and broken.

I hope Republicans will listen to new ideas and solutions and not throw the baby out with the bathwater, but from where I sit, using 1/4 of my income on health costs to keep my adult son alive (and I'll likely be working well into my 70's), the Democrats get no high marks from me on healthcare.

Seriously, you should closely examine the demise of American whites--- excessive deaths from opioid and meth overdosing, high suicide rate, alcoholism, and low fertility rate. Check out impoverished white areas like Appalachia or where I live in the South. Many can't make a rational distinction between the Affordable Health Care Act and Obamacare because of identity politics. I am sure you want white folks to have easy access to mental health care, particularly in this day and age of the growing self-destructive white cults distributing misinformation and disinformation to the under-educated and vulnerable.

Looking at historical data, whites have killed each other by the multiple millions through endless European wars, including mass genocide of the Jews, Slavs, gypsies, and the permanently disabled. The war in Ukraine is a continuation of massive white-on-white violence. Europeans even committed mass genocide against indigenous people around the world to take away their stuff, including labor (social capital). The horror...the horror...the horror!

White racists created the ghettos in Chicago and inner cities through several years of discriminatory practices against blacks, especially with government redlining and racial covenants. You admit living in Los Angeles where my parents were prevented from purchasing a 1,200-square-foot home in Santa Monica even though my dad received GI benefits from being a WWII veteran. White folks didn’t give a fuck about his sacrifice in Guadalcanal. He returned home as a second-class citizen after serving in a segregated army.

Today, those houses are valued at up to 2 million dollars. My inherited generational wealth? John McWhorter is the exception to the rule. Lol! Needless to say, the white affirmation programs were something else (structural/institutional racism!). Your cognitive dissonance is very bad, even based on documented empirical facts.

[Drive-by shootings] were first invented by white crackers driving into black Chicago neighborhoods and shooting at the homes of blacks who competitively worked at the meat processing centers. Whites were the first rioters and looters (i.e., klan). Read the book, "Cracker Culture: Celtics..."

Furthermore, you have not mentioned the 4,500 lynchings of blacks (including men, women, and children) during Jim Crow with impunity. The castration of black men and rape of black women by so-called Christian white men. Body parts were sold as souvenirs. Your grandpa kept his prized envy secreted in a Mason Jar in the basement before he died. Now, you probably have it to help celebrate your Confederate heritage.

And, poverty is empirically correlated to crime and violence. Europe was a shihole before the transatlantic slave trade and colonization: reeking of extreme poverty/crime, rampant diseases wiping out half its population, lack of natural resources, and debauchery (priests raping children).

Antebellum Southern cracker culture emanated from the old cracker culture in Wales, Ireland Northern England, and Scotland. It had a very negative effect on black slaves in the South. Blacks from the West Indies, not exposed to the Antebellum Southern cracker culture have done better than native American blacks, to say the least, the Nigerian success. However, these groups are more conscious of their blackness after migrating to the United States and being around racist whites.
