He can't be much worse than the last clown. And if he doesn't do a good job, fire him and get someone else.

The confirmation hearings net month will certainly be interesting!

However, Gallagher was found not guilty of murder, gulty of taking a photo with a corpse, along with others in his platoon. Reports at the time are not pretty, but neither are they consistent wirh war crimes.

I stand with Pete as well-Clinton was a predator, Biden was accused by Tara reed and democrats said nothing - don’t care about his personal life , he’s a vet and out military needs help BIDEN had Racheal Levine the obese trans man as head of health department, the guy that stole women’s luggage at airports, and every other moron in his cabinet- don’t forget Miley making our military read kendi! Disgraceful

Sure, the Dems have plenty of scandals of their own, but just because they jump off a bridge doesn’t mean we need to follow.

But his character issues are only part of the problem. His bigger problem is that he’s completely unqualified for the position. This is a serious job for a serious person, not some TV personality. This is an embarrassing pick.

Luke, I'm curious what your education and work background are.

Are you a 2 time Bronze Star recipient, 10 year Army veteran, and Princeton graduate?

Oh my god, he can do anything!!! Next time you need surgery call up Pete Hegseth. He’ll fix you right up…

Listen, those are all great achievements that you listed out, but the DoD is a million-person organization with an annual budget in the 100’s of billions. Show me evidence that Hegseth led anything even 1/1000th that size. Anything?

I don't think anyone is putting Hegseth up to be my surgeon . . . but your unlettered response is typical of a triggered Liberal. These last few months must have been hellish for you. My condolences.

Personally I don't think being a decorated veteran and Ivy League graduate alone qualifies someone for a cabinet position, but those are certainly aspects of Hegseth's resume that often go unmentioned and are well beyond "Fox News Host". I take it you are not similarly qualified as a veteran, Ivy League grad, or television presenter.

Why not reserve your judgment until you see these cabinet picks perform in the hearings? That is, after all, the process.

lol. So I think we agree on two points:

1. His education and military service DO NOT qualify him to lead the DoD.

2. Neither of us can think of a single thing that DOES qualify him to lead the DoD.

Does this sound about right? It’s nice when we can find small areas where we agree.

No. I think judging anyone by what the mainstream media says about them prior to hearing from them during the advice and consent process is foolish.

Isn't Wright the guy who strongly suggests that Israel may be guilty of genocide?

Wow. RobertWright was unable to give Glenn a straight up response to 'what would be case for Pete Hegseth?' This reminds me of an acquaintance who is a Congressional staffer and his response to me about other Trump policies, "oppose, oppose, oppose." That doesn't take us very far in helping the listener go beyond MSNBC versus FOX NEWS punditry. Maybe that's reason enough for GOP senators to vote for Hegseth. Just a matter of choosing sides in a pickup game of stickball.

So what IS the case for Hegseth?

Moreover, just because someone is accused of X, Y, and Z, it does to mean the nominee did X, Y, and Z. There is a lot of he-said-she-said on all of the Hegseth accusations (if I am not mistaken, they are all anonymous), while folks who served in the military and worked with him at Fox have come out to defend his character... I was not there to witness Hegseth's behavior, but post-Cavanaugh and E. Jean Carol "rape is sexy", I am deeply skeptical of these knee-jerk accusations of sexual assault. BTW, I found Megyn Kelly's analysis of the sexual assault accusations again Hegseth very valuable.

Hegseth actually entered into a settlement agreement with one of his accusers, which sets his situation apart from others such as Kavanaugh.

Another thing that sets Hegseth apart from Kavanaugh is that the event in question happened relatively recently and the D.A. decided not to charge him…
