In reference to the discussion about the testimony of Dr. Tobin, Chaix accuses Tobin of committing a lie of omission (he had accused Chief Arradondo of committing perjury by omission earlier) because Tobin does not volunteer information about Floyd's obvious breathing issues and possible medical issues before he was put on the ground. Tobin had stated in testimony that he had reviewed all of the body cam videos for hundreds of hours and had apparently come to his conclusions based on the final minutes of the body cam videos. Now Chaix accuses him of perjury because he did not volunteer information that neither the defense or prosecution asked him about.

I find it interesting that Chaix now blames Tobin for not talking about Floyd's claims he was in distress as evidence the officers did not cause his death, while both he and Collin in the early part of this video said that Floyd was just "running game" and making false claims about breathing in an effort to exonerate police officers for not rendering medical assistance. Not a couple minutes later after prompting by John McWohrter, Chaix again makes the claim that Floyd was "running game" and lying about his breathing issues.

I don't think you can have it both ways here. Whether or not Floyd was "running game", he did in fact end up dead.

The thing that baffles me the most about the documentary is the obsession with the MRT or Maximal Restraint Technique. Again in this interview they flat out accuse Mpls Police Chief Arradondo of committing perjury. In the film over and over again they claim that Arradondo testified in court that he did not know what the MRT was and seem to make this the centerpiece of their argument that Derek Chauvin did not receive a fair trial.

But the MRT was discussed at length in the first six days of the trial I have watched and with multiple witnesses. There were no real "gotcha" moments as presented in the documentary. To understand the full context I would recommend watching Arradondo's full testimony on Day 6. Below I have 5 clips of Arradondo's testimony. Note his answer to exhibit 17 lasts about 7 minutes and is not the few second snippet presented in the film. It should also be noted that Arradondo had concluded that this was a neck restraint and not an MRT, but he discusses the MRT for both the defense and prosecution. On Day 4 of the trial Sgt. David Pleoger also testified in detail about the MRT. I have also included Katie Blackwell's testimony.

I am at a complete loss as to understand how anyone who actually watched the trial could make this assertion.

Glenn and John ask their guests, who lied and about what. Collin and Chaix respond to this with a lengthy answer about how Floyd repeatedly lied to police. At one point Glenn asks how this is relevant, but Chaix goes right back to the same answer that Floyd lied repeatedly and that Floyd's actions at least in part were responsible for his own fate. "George Floyd was in control of this trajectory..." says Chaix.

Collin earlier made the argument that body cam video is withheld from the public. She refers to the 18 minute interaction which is roughly how long the incident lasted and why was the public only allowed to see the cell phone video. Again, the body cam video was released to the public on Aug. 10, 2020. The full 18 minute incident was shown in court from both the body cam videos of Officers Lane and Keung, the first two to arrive on the scene.

Just a note Chaix later talks about how the roughly 9 minutes of body cam video while Floyd was on the ground was not shown in the documentary because he wants people to go find it for themselves. He says everyone has already seen the viral cell phone video, no need to show it again. However the film does not focus on the cell phone video but only the body cam video. At many points in the interview both Collin and Chaiz keep talking about how the body cam video was supposedly withheld or not shown in court. Chaiz then claims it is simply too long, but we have extended scenes of angry mothers of police officers etc. I don't understand this response. It is ironic that both Collin and Chaiz make multiple claims of the body cam video being withheld from the public when it has been out there since 2020. It would seem one of the few places you can't see it is in the film, The Fall of Minneapolis.

Collin and Chaix make several comments on the body cam video not being released and seem to make comments about body cam video that was not shown in court. The body cam video was in fact released on Aug. 10, 2020, some 70 days after the incident. I understand that it was withheld for a short time as it was part of the initial investigation, while the cell phone video would have been easily obtainable by the press. While they are not specific about which video was not allowed in court, on Day 3 of the trial the body cam video of Officers Lane, Kueng, Thao and Chauvin were shown in court. It should be noted that Chauvin's body cam fell off during the struggle with Floyd and is lying under the patrol car for most of the incident. Later it shows Chauvin going into Cup Foods and retrieving the counterfeit bill and bagging the evidence back at the patrol car. It is my understanding that this wasn't admitted because it included Lane and Keung talking about the incident, but not Chauvin. Since Lane and Keung were not witnesses at this trial it was ruled to be "here-say."

The part of officer Lane's body cam video that was not shown is after he got into the ambulance with Floyd. This segment of the video includes efforts to resuscitate Floyd. This video is very graphic and highly disturbing. If you decide to view this it cannot be unwatched. I have included the clip below in addition to the full body cam video found on the Fox New website. I have also included all the body cam video played in court at the end of Day 3.

I plan on going through this roughly in order, but I do want to comment on something Mr. Chaix said was important to him to include in the documentary. That is the side by side footage of Officer Chauvin's knee on the side of the Mr. Floyd's neck and the body cam footage of the same. This video clip and still frame was introduced by the defense into the trial on Day 6. I thought that it was quite ironic for the defense to show this. In isolation it appears to support the defenses case, but if you have watched the entire series of video, this clip comes after the EMTs have arrived and taken Floyd's pulse and just before he is loaded onto the stretcher. Both EMT's Seth Bravinder and Derek Smith testified on Day 4 that after Smith examined Floyd, he went back to the ambulance and told Bravinder that Floyd was already dead. It is only after this point when the EMTs return to Floyd and start to load his body onto the stretcher that Chauvin gets up off Floyd's neck/shoulder.

Here is a clip from CSpan showing the Defense exhibiting these clips.

I am new to this site and a few weeks back I was told about the documentary, the Fall of Minneapolis. I have since watched it twice . I have watched all of the body cam videos and the first six days of the trial on YouTube. I plan to watch the entire trial and make a detailed analysis of the documentary as it pertains to the trial and body cam video. This will be far too large to present in comments but will send a completed copy to Glenn and he can decide whether to share it. I will be making some posts here, if allowed, with my comments on the interview shown above. I will be breaking it down into several posts as to make it easier to read. Thanks.

I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the documentary. HOWEVER, I also watched all the body cam footage, and it seems pretty clear that for several minutes before GF is released from the MRT hold, while bystanders are telling repeatedly that he is not responsive and to check his pulse, he is at the very least unconscious, if not already dead.

Glenn, once again you and John demonstrate how free speech works. Tough, unsparing and thoughtful conversation; attention to detail; no transparently weak egos looking for that mike drop moment. I appreciate that both of you have paired up to regularly give classes on how to express opinion and fact without making them enemies of one another.

Dirty politics and greed will continue to pit good Americans against each other. The haters are always going to hate - they really just enjoy listening to themselves talk. It's the people placed in positions of power that are the danger; the insider assassins of society. There's just no money in the solution, so they will continue to stir the waters of discontent and hate by encouraging verbal trolls and releasing their goons into the street at every election cycle.

Please continue the course - your voices are important. Thank you.

Poor racist spiral. His existence and essence rest upon his vitriol hate for Black folks. Did Pookie and Ray-Ray brutually take his booty in an alley in Compton? Did this aggravate his prior sexual assault by uncle Bubba in the barn? Is spiral still dysfunctional behind his parents being brother and sister? Lol!
